sex therapy

While anyone can call themselves a sex therapist, including people who have no training as a therapist, I am a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). In order to become a Certified Sex Therapist with AASECT, one must be a licensed mental health professional in their state, be in good ethical standing, complete extensive education and coursework related to human sexuality, sex therapy interventions and techniques, and receive clinical supervision with a Certified Sex Therapy Supervisor. You can find me verified on the AASECT Provider Directory.

Sex therapy is first and foremost psychotherapy - there is no sexual contact between therapist and client. For more about how I approach therapy, read here.

I love to help people communicate more effectively about sex and pleasure. I lend my humor and ease to the therapy process. I do not pathologize human sexuality and diversity, but rather see it is is part of the range of human experiences.

I take great care and sensitivity when approaching the topic of sex, with the intention of creating a therapy environment of comfort and ease. I completed my Sex Therapy Certificate from California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and receive regular, ongoing sex therapy education through attending lectures, workshops, and consultation. Some topics clients come to see me for are:
